Fire: Bystander helps man escape from burning home
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A bystander stopped to help a man and his animals escape from a burning home, according to the Lexington Fire Department.
Officials say the fire happened Monday morning on Santa Anita Drive.
Firefighters say the porch caught fire then spread into the home. A man driving by saw the flames and stopped to help, according to investigators.
The fire department says the bystander grabbed a ladder and helped the man and two of his dogs climb down to safety.
There were two other dogs in the home at the time and both were able to make it out safely, according to officials.
Fire investigators say the fire is believed to be accidental but they are still investigating the exact cause.
