Fire burns 20 acres in Red River Gorge
PINE RIDGE, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to the U.S. Forest Service, a slow-moving wildfire has burned 20 acres in the Red River Gorge and that area is closed to the public.
According to the Forest Service, the fire was first reported Saturday, on the eastern end of the Gorge, in the “Clifty Wilderness.”
Officials say Wildcat Trail and a long stretch of Swift Camp Creek Trail are now closed to the public.
They say the fire is slow-moving, and crews are doing minimum-impact suppression techniques.
