Feeders’ Cup kicks off week-long Breeders’ Cup Festival
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – More than 20 food trucks will be parking their kitchens at Whitaker Bank Ballpark Saturday for the inaugural Feeders’ Cup Invitational competition.
Each competing truck will be whipping up their tastiest culinary concoctions to try and win top prize in a variety of categories including; best sweet, best southern classic, best world fusion, best farm to table and best overall. The winners will be determined by a panel of judges and votes cast by attendees.
The food truck talent is driving in from all over the bluegrass and beyond for the competition which kicks off at 3 pm Saturday, with judging wrapping up at 9 pm and winners announced at 9:30.
In addition to all the potentially prize-winning food will be music from Johnny Conqueroo, Coralee and the Townies, and Sheisty Khrist and Tribe Called Lex.
The five winning trucks will serve and sell their full menu in the #ShareTheLex Winners’ Stretch at Short Street and Cheapside in downtown Lexington during the week of the Breeders’ Cup Festival.
According to the Feeders’ Cup website, partial proceeds for the event will go to God’s Pantry Food Bank.
