FCPS Interim Superintendent Candidate Drops Out

One candidate has dropped out of the process of finding a interim superintendent for FCPS.

In a statement sent out to the public, the school district said Carmen Coleman has withdrawn her name from consideration.

The district said Coleman contacted it to say she’d rather apply for the permanent position that will open in the spring. The district said Coleman currently works at UK and the Center for Innovation.

That leaves two candidates, Marlene Helm and Ronald "Sonny" Fentress. There’s another meeting scheduled Monday to talk about candidates.
