FBI: Human remains found in July are not Crystal Rogers

NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The F-B-I says human remains found back in July near the Boarder of Nelson and Washington Counties are not Crystal Rogers.

Officials say over the last few months, the FBI has utilized the Combined DNA Index System in an attempt to identify the remains but a match was not found.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office will continue to be the lead on the investigation of the unidentified remains. The F-B-I says it will continue to investigate Rogers’ disappearance.

ABC 36 received this text from Sherry Ballard on news of the human remains NOT belonging to her daughter Crystal Rogers…

“I honestly don’t know how to feel or react about the news on the human remains. Of course I’m upset that it isn’t my daughter, but at the same time i am relieved. As a mother,  in my heart I truly never felt like this was my daughter. This was my hope though of finally bringing my daughter home and now i am back to square one of not knowing where my daughters remains are located. I will never lose hope though in finding my daughter.”
