Fayette schools seek public input on wellness report card

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Each fall, Fayette County Public Schools produces a Wellness Report Card that describes nutrition programs and physical activity in schools across the district.

The 2020 version looks much different because of the COVID-19 school closures in March and distance learning through this semester, and January’s public hearing might be virtual.

Meanwhile, the community is welcome to email feedback to Debbie Boian, the district’s Health Services coordinator, or to Michelle Coker, director of Child Nutrition.

After reviewing community input, they will submit the overview and districtwide goals to the school board for approval.

Timeline

  • Through 6 p.m. Dec. 18 – community feedback accepted via email
  • 4 p.m. Jan. 25 – public hearing TBD
  • 6 p.m. Jan. 25 – Wellness Report Card presented during the school board meeting
