Fayette, Pulaski, Madison County teams tops in cheer competition

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – In the second day of the state high school cheerleader championships, Eastern Kentucky teams took home three crowns Friday and several others ranked high in their classifications (see all results 2020-21 KHSAA Competitive Cheer Final Results _ Kentucky High School Athletic Association).

Fayette County’s Dunbar and Frederick Douglass high schools finished one-two in the All-Girls Large team division.

Pulaski and Russell counties took the top two spots in the All-Girls Medium size competition. Corbin was fifth.

And in the All-Girls Small division, Madison Central and Perry Central were one and two with Pikeville fourth.

In the Coed division, East Jessamine, Lafayette and Nicholas County were fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively.

Thursday, Somerset took home the Game Day competition title.

Dance teams from across the state will compete Sunday at George Rogers Clark High in Winchester.
