Fayette County Public Schools update schedule due to snow days

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – As of February 12, 2018, students in the Fayette County Public Schools have missed four days and six hours of school due to winter weather. Although the instructional calendar already identifies possible weather make-up days, the school district sent out an update Monday to help families make plans.

School will definitely be in session on Friday, March 16, 2018, which was originally scheduled to be a day off for students. At this point, school is scheduled to be in session on Tuesday, May 29, Wednesday, May 30 and Thursday May 31, 2018.  The school system asks families to adjust their calendars at home to reflect these changes, knowing that there is still a lot of winter left to go.

If FCPS doesn’t miss any more days due to winter weather, May 31, 2018 would be the last day of school.

High school graduations would be scheduled on May 31 and June 1. Please note that high school graduation dates are not set until mid-spring after the threat of bad weather has passed and all make-up days have been announced.
