UPDATE: FCPS tested bus routes Monday morning

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – As we reported last week, there’s a shortage of bus drivers in the Fayette County Public School District.

Director of Transportation Marcus Dobbs says only one driver has been hired since then.

Dobbs says the process for hiring a driver takes about a month in half because of training purposes.

LEXINGTON, Ky.-(WTVQ)- Fayette County Public School bus drivers  tested bus routes this morning at 6 a.m.

Those test runs took place at the bus garages on Miles Point Way and Liberty Road.

Transportation Director Marcus Dobbs says the test runs are beneficial before the first day of school to help drivers familiarize themselves with their routes.
