Father charged with son’s murder in Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State Police say they have arrested a man accused of killing his son a year and a half ago in Knox County.

Investigators found Charles Phipps outside if a burned-out house in May 2017. State Police determined Phipps had been shot due to an injury to his torso.

They say the father walked over to get a 9-millimeter pistol and a fight started.

This arrest comes after a burned pistol was found after a search warrant was conducted at Paul Phipps’ home in early November.

Phipps was arrested ans charged with murder.
