UPDATE: Driver ejected and killed in I-75 crash in Laurel Co.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Investigators now know the name of the person killed in the crash on I-75 in Laurel County, Thursday.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Thomas Stokes was driving southbound in a 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup, speeding, and passing vehicles on the right shoulder just before to the crash.

Witnesses say the truck ran off the road into the median and hitting the chain divider fence, ejecting Stokes. He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital London where he was pronounced deceased. He was the only person in the car.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on I-75 about seven miles north of London.

The sheriff says the road was closed for a period of time, but is back open.

No names were immediately released.
