Fans brave the weather for last day of Keeneland
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Umbrellas and rain jackets replaced the typical accessories people see at the Keeneland Spring Meet.
The last day of Keeneland, mirroring opening day, fans braving the rain showers to commemorate the end of the season.
“Nothing could rain on our parade today,” fan Lance Lovins said.
Some first timers also made their way to the track today.
“Just seeing the track and stuff like that I’m just pretty excited to see the races,” first-time attendee Aaron Brandt said.
While Brandt noted he was excited to see the track, he also noticed the fair share of rain it had endured.
“I don’t know how they’re going to be able to race on that type of track,” he said.
As every Kentuckian knows, these horses are known to beat the odds. Many people even bet on it.
“I’m going to bet the farm by the way,” Lovins said.
As people say goodbye to Keeneland, the next stop is Churchill Downs.
