Family of couple missing in Belgium holds on to hope
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The family of Stephanie Shults is holding on to the hope that she and her husband, Justin, will be found alive – and soon – following the attacks in Belgium.
Stephanie’s aunt, Betty Newsom, says the family is trying to stay positive. She says it’s hard but they aren’t giving up hope.
The Shults’ were reported missing after the attacks on Tuesday, after having just dropped Stephanie’s mother off at the Brussels Airport. She is safe, but no one’s heard from Stephanie or Justin.
The family says they’ve been on a roller coaster of emotions. Now they’re waiting, and praying for good news.
“I have faith that God is with my sister and her husband, and with Stephanie and Justin,” says Newsom. “I refuse to think anything negative until it has been confirmed.”
Stephanie’s father arrived in Belgium early Thursday morning, and Justin’s parents hope to join him soon.
