Family Buys Storm Shelter After Scare
An eastern Kentucky family was forced to take shelter at a school 5 miles from their home during a tornado warning, so Tony Gilbert decided to install a storm shelter behind his house.
The shelter, which is built into the side of a hill, measures 8×10 feet, and cost around $4,000.
Other types of shelters, sold in Richmond at Concrete Materials Company, can be buried into a flat yard.
The prices range from $1,500 to $5,000 dollars depending on the design and size of the shelter.
