Fallen Richmond Police officer remembered on anniversary of his death

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A wreath was placed next to fallen Richmond Police Officer Daniel Ellis’ cruiser on the two-year anniversary of his death Monday.

There was also a moment of silence at 4:57 p.m., in honor of Ellis’ badge number, 457.

Officer Ellis died November 6, 2015, two days after shot in the line of duty while investigating a robbery.

Daniel Ellis left behind a wife and young son.

The accused killer and his alleged accomplice are awaiting trial.
