Fall-like and pleasant start to the work week
Chilly start to the day, below average afternoon
The day started for many in the mid-upper 40s, with a slight chill in the air. Throughout the morning, we’ll slowly move through the 50s and 60s before reaching near 70 by lunchtime. We’ll have lots of sunshine and a light northeast breeze. Overall, a beautiful way to start the work week. By the afternoon, temperatures will reach the upper 70s, around 10 degrees below average for this time of the year.
Only a few hazards to keep in mind
Through this forecast, there will be very few weather impacts that you’ll need to look out for. The only things are the dryness and allergens. Drought conditions have extended through the Bluegrass despite the rain we received through the end of the week. If you want to take advantage of the gorgeous fall-like evening ahead by having a bonfire, be sure to use caution, as fire can spread quickly when the ground is so dry. Several counties actually have burn bans in effect, like Franklin and Jessamine counties. We are also seeing ragweed allergens at high levels, so be sure to take medication before heading outdoors, or your nose may suffer the consequences.
The rest of our week
Through the week, temperatures will slowly warm back to the upper 80s, leaving right at average by the end of the work week. As of now, we’re expecting to stay dry through this forecast period. The next chance of active weather may not be for another week. In the meantime, we’ll be pleasant, dry, and warm.
