Event marking anniversary of 13th Amendment is postponed

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Officials are postponing an event scheduled for Saturday to mark the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which abolished slavery.

The delay is due to the winter storm passing through Kentucky. The program is to be held in Frankfort, but a new date hasn’t been set.

The Kentucky State NAACP Conference, Kentucky State University and the Pan African Studies Department of the University of Louisville are the hosts.
