Estill County man indicted in house-remodeling theft case

IRVINE, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Estill County man is accused of buying thousands of dollars in merchandise for himself instead of for his alleged victim’s home-remodeling project, according to the Office of the Attorney General.

Investigators say 30-year old Michael Miller used his alleged victim’s credit card to buy the items between March and May of this year.

He was indicted on theft by deception and being a persistent felony offender charges, according to prosecutors.

The Office of the Attorney General says Miller has three 2016 felony convictions for theft, burglary and forgery.  He was sentenced to five years and two years in prison for those crimes, but was released on shock probation, according to the state.
