‘Energy Carnival’ held at Royal Spring Middle School in Scott County

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Saving energy was the theme of an ‘Energy Carnival’ held Friday at Royal Spring Middle School in Scott County.  The Energy and Environmental Club sponsored the carnival.

The goal was to teach people the importance of energy conservation at school, home and work and to be a lesson that would hopefully last a lifetime.

"I think a lot of schools these days don’t realize how much energy they’re using and that’s not a good thing because America is still a growing country and we need to keep ourselves in check and not use as much as we do.  So, starting at a school level is definitely effective," said Royal Spring eighth grader Braden Adams.

Royal Spring Middle School knows something about energy conservation.  It was one of only three Kentucky winners of the ‘Green Ribbon Schools Award’ for 2015.
