Election 2015: Latest from Jack Conway’s HQ
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- As democratic supporters start trickling into the Frankfort Convention Center, democratic candidates hope votes swing their way in this year’s elections.
The democratic headliner this year, Jack Conway spent the morning at the polls, but still with family. Conway, his wife and two daughters voted in Louisville this morning, one of his girls even chiming in with a “Vote for Conway” for media. The stage is set at the convention center. It’s where all the democratic candidates will come to end the evening.
Signs for Adam Edelen, Alison Lundergan-Grimes, Andy Beshear and others litter the center.
As for Conway, campaign organizers say he’ll be around Frankfort but keeping a low profile. After casting his ballot just before 9 a.m., Conway told media he would be on the phones for a majority of the day, thanking volunteers.
When asked about how he felt, the candidate simply replied, “comfortable.” He then went into the difference between he and his opponent, Republican Matt Bevin. Bevin’s campaign, headquartered in Louisville hopes to make changes, particularly in funding to things like Medicare and early childhood education.
Conway hopes to keep those the same.
