Elderly man found dead in water at Clark County Fish and Game Club

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – An elderly man is dead after suffering a medical emergency while fishing at the Clark County Fish and Game Club.

According to the Clark County coroner, Lawrence Barrett, 78, was fishing off the dock at the club when he had a heart attack and fell in the water.

The coroner says the game warden, who lives on the property, found Barrett shortly after he fell in.

Barrett was pulled from the water and taken to Clark Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just before 4 p.m.

The coroner explains Barrett did not drown, and he found no sign of trauma.
