Elderly Man Arrested For Drug Trafficking In Harlan County

Kentucky State Police said a search of a Harlan County home in the Bledsoe community took thousands of dollars worth of drugs off the street.
Troopers said Donald Ray Howard, 71, was arrested Sunday around 9 p.m. and charged with trafficking 1,930 prescription pills.
Authorities estimate those pills to be valued at $30,800.
Troopers said they found hundreds of hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone and suboxones pills at Howard’s residence.
They also said they found nearly $15,500 in cash, one ounce of marijuana and eight guns in Howard’s home.
Howard faces the following charges:  possession of firearms by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking controlled substances and trafficking less than eight ounces of marijuana.

He is being held in the Harlan County Detention Center.
