EKU To Become ‘Tobacco Free Campus’

EKU will become a tobacco-free campus later this year.

The University Board of Regents approved the change Monday during its regular meeting.

It said that the use of tobacco would be prohibited on all property owned, leased, occupied or controlled by the school starting June 1st.

EKU adopted a ‘smoke-free zone’ policy back in 2006.

The school said the new code would put EKU with more than 1,100 colleges and universities nationwide that have enacted similar tobacco-free policies.
