Early Morning Break-In Near UK Campus

Lexington and University of Kentucky police are investigating an early-morning break-in at home near campus.

Police said they were called to 1211 Crescent Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

They said there were four women in the home when one heard a noise downstairs and went to investigate.

She told police that’s when she spotted a man with a hoodie and a backpack rummaging around.

The man then left through a back door.

Police believe he got in through an unlocked door.

They said the burglar got away with some purses.
