DUI arrest after injury accident in Metcalfe County
EDMONTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a woman was arrested and charged with DUI after a collision in Metcalfe County that sent her and two passengers – one of them 10 years old – to the hospital.
Troopers say 25-year-old Amy Vaughn, of Sulphur Well, was traveling westbound on US 68 on Thursday when she lost control of her vehicle and ran off the road at about 10:35 p.m. at mile marker 14. Investigators say Vaughn’s vehicle then hit a tree stump and overturned.
She and 10-year-old Dakota Morris, a passenger in the car, were taken to T.J. Samson Hospital for treatment. Another passenger, 46-year-old Paul Morris, was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Hospital.
Vaughn was arrested at about 1:42 a.m. and charged with DUI.
She was taken to the Barren County Jail.
