Drying out in time for Thanksgiving
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has a look at your Tuesday evening forecast!
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Tuesday evening everyone, it has been a day filled with moderate to heavy rain across central and eastern Kentucky which has been great news for our ongoing drought situation. It has not been great news for all the travelers out there heading to their Thanksgiving destinations as we have seen several accidents across the area. Rain is ending from west to east this evening and that sets us up for a dry next few days. Out the door early on our Wednesday will be chilly with upper 30s to low 40s. I also can’t rule out a left over sprinkle or even snow flurry in the east. High temperatures on Wednesday will only be in the mid 40s. Thanksgiving day will be dry and chilly with low to mid 50s.
All you holiday shoppers heading out to the stores early on Black Friday will need the winter coats with low 30s.
Friday afternoon will be dry with highs in the upper 40s. Saturday is also dry and chilly with highs in the mid to upper 40s. But by the time we get to our Sunday, we look to be tracking another system into town with even colder air behind it.
