Drying out for the middle of the week
Afternoon highs on Tuesday will reach the mid-to-upper 70s under mostly sunny skies
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – After scattered showers and storm on Monday we will be drying things out for the middle of the week. Once the morning low-level cloud cover and fog clears, you can expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures climbing into the low 70s for the afternoon. There’s a small chance of a quick shower south and east of Lexington but most areas do stay dry. Mainly clear skies tonight will allow temperatures to fall into the 50s across the region.
Your Wednesday will start off cool but we will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s by the afternoon. A beautiful mid-June day can be expected for your Wednesday! Temperatures will be climbing into the mid-80 by Thursday afternoon as we close out our dry stretch of weather.
Rain chances do return on Friday, but don’t expect a washout. Isolated showers and a storm or two can be expected to close out the workweek.
As for the weekend though, that’s where the widespread rain chances return. Scattered showers and a few storms will be in the forecast both Saturday and into Sunday. This unsettled pattern will likely stick around into next week as well.
If you think it’s been a wet start to the year, you would be correct. In fact, it’s the second wettest start to the year through June 9th on record in Lexington!
