Dry start to Monday before unsettled weather returns

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Monday! It was a beautiful Mother’s Day across the region, with the nice conditions continuing into the start of the workweek. Temperatures will once again climb into the upper 70s, maybe into the low 80s for some. Cloud cover will increase throughout the day ahead of rain chances increasing during the evening hours.

Scattered rain chances return overnight and will continue into the day on Tuesday. Rain, heavy at times, and scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast for your Tuesday. There an isolated risk for localized high water concerns in low-lying and flood prone areas. We are not expecting widespread flooding issues though. Rain chances continue into your Wednesday with lingering scattered showers and a few storms. A widespread half inch to an inch of rain is expected with isolated amounts upwards of an inch and a half possible.

Our next dry period will be a brief one on Thursday. Expect to dry out late Wednesday night into the daytime on Thursday before more rain chances return late Thursday into your Friday. Those rain chances will likely linger into the weekend as well.
