Drivers: Expect Heavy Traffic With UK Move-In Days

This year, the University of Kentucky will be bringing in some 6,000 students living in the dorms.

Move-in days have been announced.

Students will be moving onto campus on the following dates:

-Saturday, August 16th
-Wednesday, August 20th
-Friday, August 22nd
-Saturday, August 23rd

Expect delays, and heavy traffic around campus around those days and, if possible, find alternate routes to your destinations.

The school said several streets on (and bordering) campus will have closures or other changes to traffic flow as students move in.

UK said drivers should watch for ‘No Parking’ signs and bagged meters in certain areas.

There will also be additional traffic impact in the form of restricted parking areas, unloading zones, one-way streets, and transportation re-routes.
