Driver left with life-threatening injuries

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A serious crash in Lexington Sunday morning has a man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the man was driving towards Georgetown Road on Mercer Road when he hit a tree around 1:40 AM.

First responders found the car in the middle of the roadway.

According to officers, the man was trapped in the car and it took 25 minutes to get him out.

He was taken to UK ER with life-threatening injuries.
