Driver ditches truck after it catches fire

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters responding to a report of a truck fire in Johnson County found the truck but not the driver.

According to the W.R. Castle Volunteer Fire Department, they were called to Tobacco Road in Sitka around 11:13 a.m. Tuesday.

They arrived to find a truck engulfed in flames.

According to the Paintsville Herald newspaper, the driver of the truck was later found.

The newspaper says the man was on home confinement but was allowed to be out between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The man told deputies he ran off because he thought the truck was stolen.
