Driver who died in fiery crash on I-75 in Lexington identified

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) (UPDATE) – The Fayette County Coroner has identified the man who died Saturday morning in a fiery crash on I-75 as 29-year-old Anthony Carruyo Jimenez.

The Coroner is investigating his death.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The driver of a car died overnight in a fiery crash on I-75 in Fayette County, according to Lexington Police.

Investigators say the crash happened on southbound I-75, not far from the Man O War Exit, just after 2:30 a.m.

Police say the crash happened on the right shoulder side of the interstate.  They say there was only one car involved and the driver was the only person in the car.

The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.

The Lexington Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called in to investigate the cause of the deadly crash.

Police say two southbound lanes were closed for six hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.  All lanes reopened at 8:30 a.m.
