Drier Monday ahead of a cooler Tuesday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Good morning, Kentucky! We are tracking improving conditions for your Veterans Day. After dreary conditions throughout the day on Sunday a cold front passed through the area last night. This front will be exiting the area during the morning hours leading to clearing skies and drier conditions for your Monday. We are tracking a secondary cold front moving through tonight that will drop our temperatures for the day on Tuesday.

Afternoon highs on Tuesday will struggle to get out of the low-to-mid 50s, our first seasonably cool day so far this November. The cooler temps will continue into Wednesday morning as lows will be falling into mid-to-upper 30s.

We will briefly spike temperatures Wednesday afternoon ahead of another cold front. This front will bring us a rain chance late Wednesday night into the morning hours of Thursday. The heaviest of the rain will likely be across south-central Kentucky this time, where isolated areas could see upwards of an inch of rain. Most of the rain will be moving in during the overnight hours, with lingering showers in the forecast on Thursday.

Cooler air will be in place Thursday into Friday with both days likely staying in the 50s. The weekend does look to start off mainly dry with pleasant temperatures in the forecast for Saturday. Afternoon highs will likely be above average, in the low 60s for most of the area. Our next rain chance will be moving in possibly late Sunday, but mostly likely hold off until early next week. Looking ahead at next week… There will likely be shot of colder air by the end of the week leading to one of a cooler shots of air of the season. S
