Donald Trump wins In., W. Va. and KY; Hillary Clinton wins Vermont
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – The Associated Press is projecting victories in Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, while Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is projected to win in Vermont.
Republican Donald Trump won Kentucky’s eight electoral votes, beating out Democrat Hillary Clinton in a state that has voted for the GOP presidential nominee in every election since 2000. Early results of exit polling show Trump picked up support in many quarters of the hard-hit coal mining state where the economy was identified as the most pressing issue.
Donald Trump glided to an easy victory in West Virginia, capturing the state’s 5 electoral votes.
