Dog Rescued After Falling Off Cliff

Wolfe County Search & Rescue saved a dog after if fell over a cliff in the Pine Ridge area Sunday.

Wolfe and Powell counties responded to the dog after its owner called. Rescuers said the dog was found on a two-feet wide cliff ledge about 20-feet down with another drop of more than 100-feet beyond the ledge.

The teams said they worked together to setup a raise/lower system and put a rescuer down the cliff to help the dog which was doing okay.

The owner made a donation to both search and rescue teams after the dog was retrieved.
