UPDATE: I-75 reopens after multi-county chase

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) -I-75 in Madison County has reopened after being shut down for over two hours due to a high-speed pursuit.

The chase began in Scott County when officials say a man refused to pull over for a traffic stop.

The man then led law enforcement on a chase through Fayette County and into Madison County where multiple police vehicles finally got the man to stop near exit 90 on the southbound side interstate.

Troopers say I-75 was shut down in both directions at the end of the chase, leading to backups as long as 8 miles.

The suspect is in custody, though he has not been identified, nor have his charges been released.

I-75 in Madison County near exit 90 is blocked in both directions, with multiple police units on the scene.

Kentucky State Police say that a pursuit is coming to a conclusion on the interstate, leading to the lanes being closed.
