Desperately needed water given out in Estill County

IRVINE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A water distribution center opened Tuesday at the Estill County Fair Barn for thousands of people who don’t have any water due to cold weather-related broken pipes.

The center is providing water for people who live in the Fox, Hargett, Winston and Knob Lick areas of Estill County.  More than 1,000 gallons of bottled water was handed out in the first three hours the center was open on Tuesday.

In order to receive water at the drive-thru distribution center, people must bring a current water bill or have their account number with them.  The center is scheduled to be open Wednesday, February 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
