Deputies: Two Vehicles Collide in Franklin County, Hitting Bystander
Deputies say when they arrived at around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, they found 26-year-old Evan Prewitt lying on the ground, along with the two vehicles involved in the accident.
An investigation showed that Joshua Graves, 30, of Franklin County, was driving along when he topped a hill and crashed into a Ford Focus being driven by 73-year-old Barbara Johnson, also from Franklin County.
Officers say when the two vehicles hit, the Impala Graves was driving went off the road and smashed through several mailboxes — right where Prewitt was standing.
Prewitt was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical center and was listed in critical condition
Johnson did not wish to be treated at the scene. She taken by a family member to Frankfort Regional Medical center to be examined.
Graves was arrested and charged with two counts of wanton endangerment and operating a motor vehicle under the influence — his third offense. He’s now lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail with a bond of $20,811.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is still looking into the crash.
