Deputies: Man switched out vehicles after DUI crash to avoid arrest

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a driver left a crash scene, then used different vehicles to avoid deputies.

Investigators say 24-year-old Nathan Davidson of London was arrested early this morning at St. Joseph Hospital London. Deputies say Davidson was wanted in connection to a crash on Barbourville Road. According to the sheriff’s office, Davidson had been drinking when he drove a pickup truck over an embankment and crashed. They say he then ran off, found another vehicle and drove back to the crash site to pick up a female victim. Deputies say he drove the woman to meet an ambulance, then left again.

The sheriff’s office says Davidson later returned to the hospital in a different vehicle. They say he tried to get away from law enforcement, but was caught and arrested. He’s facing several charges, including driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, fleeing or evading police and driving on a DUI suspended license.
