Deputies: Drunken Man Fires Gun, Bullet Barely Misses Neighbor

A man was lying in his bed when a bullet flew through his bedroom window, missed his head by a few inches and then hit his closet door, according to Laurel County deputies.

Investigators said the incident happened just after 9:30 Sunday night off of Combs Circle in London.

Deputies learned the shot came from a neighbor’s home and then went to question the man. They reportedly found Charles Smith, 36, intoxicated and holding a small handgun.

Smith was charged with wanton endangerment and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
