Deputies arrest woman for shoplifting and drug trafficking

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – In Laurel County, deputies say a woman was caught shoplifting and led to an additional drug trafficking charge.

The sheriff’s office said Susan Amith was caught stealing from a Walmart in Southern Laurel County, but that wasn’t all investigators found.

Officials said Smith had a bag of what is believed to be crystal meth on her and investigators say she also had hundreds of pills that she allegedly bought from someone else.

She is in the Laurel County Detention Center with several charges related to the drugs including trafficking a controlled substance.
