Deputies Arrest Man Accused of Breaking into Fire Chief’s Home

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office received an interesting phone call early Tuesday morning, as they said Fire Chief Rodney Gay reported a man had broken into his home and was standing in his bedroom.

Officers arrived just after 5am and said that Chief Gay had subdued 53-year-old Mark Hensley, of Middlesboro.

Deputies said Hensley would not cooperate and had to be restrained.

He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Facility and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
