Department of Public Safety holds job fair in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Several of Lexington’s Public Safety agencies came together Saturday at Fire Station 2 to recruit new prospects into the public safety field.
That included the Police and Fire Departments, Community Corrections, Code Enforcement, and 911 Dispatch. The Job Fair comes at a time when a large number of people are retiring across these organizations.
The Fire Department was represented by Karrie Wilburn, The Bureau Commander for Recruiting and Hiring, who says that events like these make hiring easier for everyone.
“All of these different agencies work together. So if people have interest in any of those jobs, a lot of them overlap. So rather than have people have to go to all of those agencies, give them an opportunity to have a one stop shop where they can ask questions to all the different agencies in one location.” said Wilburn.
