Delivery driver’s name released in deadly Lexington knife attack

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner says 22-year-old Salahuddin Jitmoud of Lexington was the delivery driver killed in a knife attack Sunday night.

Lexington police were called to Walnut Hill Apartments around 11 p.m. Sunday on Trent Circle. Neighbors say they found Jitmoud lying in the breezeway of one of the apartment buildings and called police.

Police say Jitmoud was delivering food for the Pizza Hut on Saron Drive when the attack happened. According to police, he was cut in the area around his neck. Police also tell us something was taken, but are not saying what that was.

There are no suspects in the homicide as of Monday evening, and police are asking for information in the case.

A spokesperson for Pizza Hut sent ABC 36 News this statement:
"We are deeply saddened by this senseless act that took the life of one of our team members. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, including those colleagues with whom he worked alongside. We are cooperating with local law enforcement in hopes that they find those responsible for this unthinkable tragedy as quickly as possible."
