UPDATE: 40-year-old man identified as victim in homicide

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 40-year-old man has been identified as the person found dead in a home early Thursday morning.

According to Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn, Terrence McGhee was pronounced dead at 1:42 a.m. at 438 Ohio St. in Lexington. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, said Ginn, who labeled the case a homicide.

When police were first dispatched early Thursday morning, officers were advised by dispatchers of both a possible stabbing and possible shooting but neither has been confirmed by police or Ginn.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A death investigation is underway in Lexington after a man was found dead inside a house.

According to police, a call for a possible burglary came in just after midnight for the 400 block of Ohio Street.

Police said a man was found dead inside a home. According to police, there were other people inside the home at the time who were questioned but were released.

No word on any suspect information.

An official cause of death has not yet been announced.
