Death investigation underway after body found in Lawrenceburg
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Investigators hope an autopsy will determine the identity along with the cause and manner of death of a man found in a home in Lawrenceburg on Thursday.
Anderson County Coroner Dr. Mark Tussey says a relative asked authorities to check on the man at a home on Bell Street and that’s when the man was found around 12:20 p.m.
Coroner Tussey says the body was beginning to decompose, but it’s still not known how long the man had been dead before being found.
Dr. Tussey says they will use fingerprints to try to identify the man.
The autopsy is scheduled Friday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort. The case is currently classified as a death investigation.
Lawrenceburg Police are working with the coroner’s office in the investigation.
