Danville officer resigns after accident
DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Danville Police Department says that an off-duty officer who was involved in an injury accident back in February has resigned.
According to police, the accident happened February 26 on HWY 2168.
Boyle Co. Sheriff’s office took over the investigation when it was discovered that off-duty Danville police officer Ryan Hundley was involved in the crash.
Officers say during the course of the investigation it was learned that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
Now, Hundley has resigned from his post. He had been on medical leave as a result of injuries he sustained in the wreck.
The Boyle Co. Sheriff’s Office is investigating any criminal charges that may result from the incident.
