Cynthiana’s K9 Duncan needs a last name, kids urged to help

CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WTVQ/Cynthiana Democrat) – Cynthiana Police soon will have a new member on the force and while it has a first name, it needs a last name. And the department wants kids in grades k-5 to help out.

K9 Duncan and handler Keria Lockett are undergoing training and expect to graduate Oct. 22, according to the department’s Facebook page and a story in the Cynthiana Democrat.

So that all the proper paperwork can be filled out, Duncan, who will be a drug and tracking dog, needs a last name, the department said.

Here’s how to help. Think about a good last name for Duncan and e-mail your name choice to CPDAuxillary@cynthianaky.gov
The email should include the student’s name, grade, a phone number and the student’s school’s name.
The deadline for entering will be Friday, Oct. 15. The winner will be contacted by phone and announced the following week in The Cynthiana Democrat.

The winner will receive a prize package and will have a picture made with Officer Duncan and Officer Lockett.
