Cumberland man who escaped custody, arrested

 PULASKI, Ky. (WTVQ) — An anonymous tip led to the arrest of the Cumberland man who escaped custody on May 15, according to police.

Cumberland Sherriff’s Office says Deputy Travis Thomson acted on a tip, locating Billy Joe Boggs at a residence on Highway 194 in Nancy, Kentucky.

Boggs had escaped from a police cruiser, taking with him evidence from the front seat of the cruiser, officials say, as well as the officer’s flashlight and cell phone. A warrant was issued for his arrest, charging him with 2^nd Degree Escape, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Theft by Unlawful Taking.

Boggs was taken into custody without incident, says the Sherriff’s Office, and lodged in the Pulaski Detention Center.
