Cumberland Man Charged In Series Of Copper Thefts
State Police arrested a Cumberland man in connection to a series of recent copper thefts.
Investigators said Timothy Shepherd, 34, of Cumberland, stole copper from a Appalachian Wireless cell phone tower in the Cumberland community on numerous occasions over the past few weeks.
State Police said on May 3, 2014, a portion of stolen copper was recovered after officers found Shepherd at a residence stripping the wire.
Shepherd was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center after being arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, according to investigators.
